North By Northwest was Cary Grant's fourth and final film with director Alfred Hitchcock. It is considered to the be the ultimate film of his Hollywood career. Cary Grant played Roger O. Thornhill, an advertising executive in Manhattan who is mistakenly kidnapped by gunmen, framed for murder at the United Nations, flees to Chicago with the police on his back and finally finds himself at Mount Rushmore, with spies ready to murder him. Along the way, he encounters Eva Marie Saint, who happens to be the mistress of James Mason, one of the spies that wants him dead. The film won great acclaim and was a tremendous moneymaker for MGM in 1959.
